EX5 1998 Y298,000 Continues the W family legacy, adding scene memory, along with sampling, AN, VL, and FDSP (note modulated effects) tone generators. The Yamaha EX5 is a (velocity and aftertouch) sensitive 76 key (128 voice multitimbral) 16 bit sampling synthesizer, featuring stereo|mono sampling (44.1kHz), 3 effects processors, stereo sample inputs, stereo and dual individual outputs, DSHD floppy drive, 16 track real-time and 8 track pattern sequencers, arpeggiator, MIDI, 512 presets (256 are editable), and 4 elements, using AWM2 (sample playback), AN (analog modelling), VL (acoustic modelling), and FDSP (note modulated effects) tone generators. Each tone generator has associated filters (AWM:EQ/DCFx2, AN:DCF, VL:EQ/DCF), dedicated (pitch, filter, and amp) EGs, and dual LFOs (single for VL). Sample editing includes loop reverse, normalize, and splice.
EX5R 1998 Y248,000 Rack version of the EX5. The Yamaha EX5R is a (velocity and aftertouch) sensitive 3U rack (128 voice multitimbral) 16 bit sampling synthesizer, featuring stereo|mono sampling (44.1kHz), 3 effects processors, stereo sample inputs, stereo and dual individual outputs, DSHD floppy drive, 16 track real-time and 8 track pattern sequencers, arpeggiator, MIDI, 512 presets (256 are editable), and 4 elements, using AWM2 (sample playback), AN (analog modelling), VL (acoustic modelling), and FDSP (note modulated effects) tone generators. Each tone generator has associated filters (AWM:EQ/DCFx2, AN:DCF, VL:EQ/DCF), dedicated (pitch, filter, and amp) EGs, and dual LFOs (single for VL). Sample editing includes loop reverse, normalize, and splice.
EX7 1998 Y248,000 EX5 with smaller keyboard, half polyphony, and no VL tone generator. The Yamaha EX7 is a (velocity and aftertouch) sensitive 61 key (64 voice multitimbral) 16 bit sampling synthesizer, featuring stereo|mono sampling (44.1kHz), 3 effects processors, stereo sample inputs, stereo and dual individual outputs, DSHD floppy drive, 16 track real-time and 8 track pattern sequencers, arpeggiator, MIDI, 512 presets (256 are editable) and 4 elements, using AWM2 (sample playback), AN (analog modelling), and FDSP (note modulated effects) tone generators. Each tone generator has associated filters (AWM:EQ/DCFx2, AN:DCF), dedicated (pitch, filter, and amp) EGs, and dual LFOs. Sample editing includes loop reverse, normalize, and splice.
